The Center for Equity in Urban Education’s goal is to increase the number and diversity of qualified and licensed educators and school leaders through culturally responsive practices within our three axes: Programs, Partnerships, and Pipelines.
- Programs: Re-imagining our academic program pathways and professional development opportunities for the flexibility of working adults.
- Partnerships: Engaging deeply with a broad range of partners within the global learning ecosystem.
- Pipelines: Ensuring an available talent pool of diverse and well-prepared teachers and school leaders.

Andrew Musante, ’24

Musante of Ludlow graduated in December with a master’s degree in education through the Center for Equity in Urban Education (CEUE) at Elms College. Until he enrolled in the program, he had never taken any education classes.
The CEUE has been an excellent experience because its emphasis on equity in education is very much in alignment with what we are trying to do at Duggan. Some of the things I’ve learned at Elms have helped me in my professional life, including equity in the classroom, making learning accessible for all students, and employing culturally responsive practices in what I teach.
