The Center for Equity in Urban Education (CEUE) at Elms College will host a three-part virtual workshop series, Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Professional Learning SeriesThe sessions will explore strategies to foster identity-affirming spaces, support intersectional identity awareness and engage in deep dialogue on culturally responsive education.

This series will be led by Dr. Tyra Good, Executive Director of the CEUE, alongside Kwame Sarfo-Mensah an educator, author, and founder of Identity Talk Consulting, LLC. Sarfo-Mensah is the author of Learning To Relearn: Supporting Identity in Culturally Affirming Classroom.

Established 5 years ago, the CEUE is dedicated to increasing the number and diversity of qualified and licensed educators and school teachers. The center offers both bachelor’s and master’s degree completion program pathways and provides support for full-time, non-licensed teachers of record & paraprofessionals in attaining initial licensure. This includes MTEL support, scholarships, and culturally responsive professional development.
