Joel Rivas MBA, BSN, RN, a double graduate of Elms College, has been recognized for his outstanding leadership in healthcare. Joel was recently awarded the prestigious Gold Level ACE Award for Best Leader at Holyoke Medical Center.

As the Director of Nursing: Medical-Telemetry at Holyoke Medical Center, Joel is known for his dedication, approachability, and deep empathy for both patients and staff. His commitment to excellence and compassionate leadership earned him this top honor, which was presented at the hospital’s Annual Gala—a fundraising event celebrating exceptional contributions to healthcare.

Congratulations to Joel on this well-deserved recognition! Joel completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the RN to BSN program at Elms College, and following that, he completed his MBA in Healthcare Leadership. Joel reflected on his experience in the MBA program at Elms College, saying, “I have to say it was one of the best decisions I ever made for my career”. His success exemplifies the mission of Elms College and the impact of an Elms education in shaping transformative leaders who make big impacts in their communities.
