Elms College announces the appointment of Kate Kane as Chair of the Board of Trustees and Mark Fulco as Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. Additionally, William Wyman ‘96, President of the Elms College Alumni Association, joins the board as a new member. These esteemed individuals bring a wealth of experience and dedication that will be instrumental in guiding the college’s future.
“It has been great to work with Kate Kane as vice-chair of the Board and I am thrilled to welcome her in the role of Board Chair as we continue our efforts together to advance the mission of Elms College and serve our diverse student population. Similarly, Mark Fulco has served the College very well as Chair of the Institutional Advancement Committee; Kate and I are looking forward to working with him as Board Vice Chair. Finally, I want to welcome William, as President of the Alumni Association, to the Elms Board,” said Dr. Harry Dumay, President of Elms College.
Kate Kane, first elected to the Board of Trustees in July 2016, has been an integral member, demonstrating a deep commitment to the college’s mission. As a Wealth Management Advisor at Northwestern Mutual, where she has been since 1986, her financial background will be invaluable in her role as chair. She has been recognized for her work with many organizations in Massachusetts, including Dress for Success, The Women’s Fund of Western Massachusetts, The Sisters of Providence Health System, Friends of the Homeless, Springfield Museums, and Square One.
Mark Fulco, a board member since July 2018, steps into the role of Vice Chair. As Vice President, Healthcare and National Healthcare Solutions Team Leader for Suffolk Constructions, Mark brings a distinguished career in executive leadership. His previous experience as President of Mercy Medical Center, Vice President at the Trinity Health Systems, and Chief Transformation Officer for Mercy Medical Center demonstrates his strategic vision and operational expertise, which will be critical in his new board position.
William Wyman ‘96 was appointed to the Board of Trustees as of July 1, 2025, bringing a valuable alumnus perspective. As President of the Alumni Association, he has consistently championed the Elms College community. William’s impressive academic background, including a BA in Paralegal studies from Elms College, MMAS from the Army’s School of Advanced Studies, and his ongoing Ph.D in Public Policy, will be a great asset to the board. Currently an Assistant Professor at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, he mentors military leaders and offers a distinct perspective on leadership and global affairs.
