Gabriela Leon Announced as one of Berkshire County’s 40 under 40

Gabriela has dedicated her career to supporting individuals on their path to recovery. As an Outreach Coordinator and Recovery Coach at Berkshire Health Systems (Berkshire Connections), she plays a vital role in helping people navigate the challenges of addiction and mental health recovery. Her personal experience provides her with a unique and compassionate perspective, allowing her to build trust, foster resilience, and connect clients with the resources they need to rebuild their lives.

Her work extends beyond individual support—it’s about strengthening the entire community. By empowering those in recovery, Gabriela contributes to a healthier, more inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

To enhance her impact, Gabriela decided to pursue a bachelor’s degree in social work at Elms College and she reflected on her experience:

“Continuing my education to earn my bachelor’s degree in social work at Elms College has been a cherished journey, one that has profoundly shaped my personal and professional growth. The classes have expanded my knowledge, allowing me to build a strong foundation for a meaningful career while strengthening the skills I have gained through my lived experience. My professors have played a pivotal role in this journey, continuously challenging me, offering unwavering support, and cheering me on every step of the way. Their guidance has fueled my passion for making a difference, and I am grateful for the opportunity to turn my experiences into a source of empowerment for others.”
