Elms College’s new Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DS-AI) major is designed to provide you with cutting-edge computer science skills needed for employment in the digital age. In DS-AI, you will learn how to collect, analyze, and process large amounts of data, and to look for hidden information and patterns that can be used to make assessments and predictive analyses. These same skills are very much sought after by employers from all types of industries including business, manufacturing, healthcare, and technology.

Our DS-AI major will provide students with a strong foundation in data science and AI machine learning techniques which can be applied to many different fields including biology and biotechnology, business and finance, and health, psychology and social sciences

Why major in DS-AI?

The U.S. Bureau of Labor predicts a 31% growth in the demand for statisticians and a 21% growth in computer and information research scientists over the next decade. Since the start of 2023, the number of AI-related job postings in the United States have grown by 19%, and 44% of U.S. executives plan to increase the use of AI tools at their company.

Why major in DS-AI at Elms College?

Classes at Elms College are generally small with around 12 to 15 students. This allows our faculty to offer more personalized instruction and to work more closely with students. Unlike larger programs at larger universities, you will get to know your professors, and they will get to know you. Our faculty has a reputation for going above and beyond to help students in the classroom, in their studies, and also with finding internships in industry, or to make recommendations when applying to graduate schools or for employment after graduation.
