Tyler Yvon ’18

“Every Thursday night I do an on-call night as a fire officer. So my shift could easily go from 12 hours to 16 hours. That’s what made taking this online degree an easy choice.”

Working as a firefighter-paramedic, Tyler needed a highly flexible degree program that would fit into his fast-paced work schedule. After taking his classes online through Elms, he graduated in spring 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management.

The Elms College degree completion program in online healthcare management is designed to address the needs of healthcare professionals who have been placed in management or supervisory roles and to prepare students for entry-level positions in healthcare organizations.

The program will provide knowledge and skills necessary for administrative positions in nursing homes, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, managed care, and other healthcare organizations. The degree completion program in healthcare management integrates coursework in business, social science and health services. Curricular strands in communication, cultural competence, and leadership are woven throughout the program.
