Memorandum of Agreement with Marywood University’s PA program
Elms College postbaccalaureate pre-medical and pre-physician assistant program students who have completed the requirements set out by Marywood University’s PA program are eligible to apply to the Marywood program for an interview. A recommendation letter of endorsement from Elms College premedical advisor is required. Students should contact the premedical advisor for more information. Memorandum of Agreements with University of New England
Elms College has signed an articulation agreement with the University of New England (UNE), creating a streamlined pathway for Elms graduates to pursue advanced degrees in five, high-demand health professions.
Under this agreement, Elms College students who meet a specified minimum GPA and fulfill additional program requirements will be guaranteed an interview in the admission process for UNE’s graduate programs. Starting in Fall of 2025, this collaboration broadens educational opportunities for Elms students, offering them direct access to UNE, Maine’s leading provider of health professional training.
Appendix for Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) Guaranteed Interview Program
Eligibility Requirements
- Must have an application in Verified status with ADEA AADSAS by September 15.
- Minimum Overall and Science GPAs of 3.2, as calculated by ADEA AADSAS. These minimum academic benchmarks must be met at the time of application.
- Complete the US Dental Admissions Test (DAT) by August 15 with a score of 17 or higher in the Academic Average, Total Science, and PAT sections, in addition to a score of 18 or higher in the Reading Comprehension section (If the DAT is taken multiple times before August 15, the best score from each subsection will be counted towards the requirement).
- All candidates are required to obtain a letter of endorsement confirming good academic standing from the Health Professions Advisor at Elms College. The letter should be uploaded via this form: UNE-Elms College Guaranteed Interview Program
- Minimum of fifty (50) hours of community service/volunteerism documented in the ADEA AADSAS application.
Prerequisite Requirements
- Successfully complete all DMD prerequisite courses (as listed in the Admissions Requirements section of the UNE Dental Medicine website) with a grade of “B minus” or higher (Note that while minimum grades are acceptable, candidates only meeting minimum grade requirements will not meet the minimum Overall or Science GPA requirement above).
- Candidates should achieve a “B minus” or higher the first time they are enrolled in the prerequisite course. Only one prerequisite course may be retaken one time to satisfy this minimum grade requirement. A candidate will not be eligible for the Guaranteed Interview Program if they earn grades below a “B minus” in multiple prerequisite courses on their first attempt.
- Candidates are responsible for confirming course equivalency of all prerequisite courses taken outside of UNE. Please email gradadmissions@une.edu for additional information.
General Requirements
- Candidates must complete all additional application requirements as specified on the UNE Dental Medicine Admissions website (for example, submission of two letters of recommendation, clinical dental experience: required minimum of thirty (30) hours of dental shadowing/experience, completion of personal statement and supplemental essays, etc.).
- All candidates must meet or have the ability to meet all UNE DMD Program Technical Standards.
- Candidates must satisfactorily complete a criminal background check prior to the start of UNE’s DMD program.
All eligible candidates who have successfully met the criteria above will be interviewed no later than November 1 of the application year.

Guaranteed Interview Program
Eligibility Requirements:
- Minimum prerequisite GPA of 2.5, as calculated by ATCAS. Additionally, all prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of “C-” or better.
- Must have an application in Verified status with ATCAS by December 1.
